“We just recorded 9 songs in 4 days with an incredible team of musicians! It sounds like a dream….better than I ever could’ve imagined”- Elise Leblanc

Neighbourhood Recorders Is the third recording studio project by celebrated Canadian producer and award winning singer songwriter Leeroy Stagger.

After relocating back home to Victoria B.C. after a successful decade of running the Rebeltone Ranch in Lethbridge Alberta, hosting artists Like Corb Lund, Chip Taylor, Mariel Buckley, Robert Connelly Farr, Miesha and the Spanks and more. Leeroy started building Neighbourhood after 2022’s devastating floods on the west coast destroyed his Rebeltone Sound Studio. With his designer wife Coby Starck, He set out to construct a thoughtful, beautiful and inspiring space that would serve to be a destination recording space for artists from all over the world. His studios have never shied away form natural light and Neighbourhood is no exception. Constructed using a mixture of Vancouver Island Cedar and Pine Shiplap as well as reclaimed timbers and Ship Port Hole Windows, Neighbourhood is a unique sounding studio full of great vintage and modern gear centred around our 1970’s British Trident Series 65 Console.

“After 20 years of making records, I wanted to create a space that is not only architecturally beautiful but also sounded warm and unique. The interior of the studio is all rough faced Pine Shiplap creating a warm and woody sound. Over the years I’ve found the best recordings I’ve been involved with are as  live off the floor as possible. I wanted to create a room that with isolation still had great sight lines, high ceilings and fantastic acoustics all in a creative environment that feels more like a clubhouse and less like a clinical studio.”

-Leeroy Stagger

The space belongs to the Artist while in the Neighbourhood and is a beacon for collaboration.

Our on site accommodations, including a 1973 Airstream Trailer allows for artists to fully immerse themselves in the project.

The surrounding greenbelt and old growth forests create a tranquil and peaceful setting.

“Leeroy Stagger has learned the art of how to make records the way that records used to be made before the robots came & took all the human being connection away. He has a vast knowledge of albums made through history and is listening to contemporaries and modern work too. He believes in the power of song & is highly inspired by @thisispattismith ‘s work ethic. He understands how to set a sonic vibe that relaxes the artist”- Tim Easton, Nashville TN.
